Message from the President
Dear CSUB Family and Our Communities,
There are just a few occasions in the course of our lives when we have the opportunity
to put our stamp on the future. Here at this university of new beginnings and empowerment
in the heart of California, we are seizing that opportunity by embarking upon a mission
to bring together our hopes, vision and best ideas to create a blueprint for success
that will guide this university for the next five years.
I invite every member of this community to join us in the critical work of shaping
CSUB鈥檚 strategic plan. We want to identify our strengths and areas of need so that
we can launch ourselves into the future as leaders in higher education and truly position
our campus to be Kern County鈥檚 University.
This process is multifaceted and highly collaborative, requiring the input of various
stakeholders both on campus and in the greater community. We strongly encourage your
participation as our strategic plan will only be as strong as the voices that are
behind it. Our hope is that the final product is a strategic plan that truly reflects
our vision and goals.
There will be many opportunities in the coming weeks and months to engage in this
effort. May we all find the time to show up and be counted -- for our students, our
colleagues, our communities, and ourselves.
