Greetings, from the College Dean

Welcome to Academic year 2025-2026! My name is Luis Vega and I have the privilege and honor of serving as interim dean of the College of Social Science and Education (SSE).

This year I will have completed three decades of proud service to CSUB, and in the collective effort of fellow faculty, staff, and administration, I rejoice in the privilege to contribute to the academic success of CSUB students.

Our college of SSE is a place where students鈥� academic, professional, and personal aspirations coalesce and concretely contribute to the economic mobility of our region and beyond.

We seek to create catalysts for positive change by preparing the leaders of the future in education and the social/behavioral sciences鈥攁s teachers, social workers, counselors, law enforcement, lawyers, sociologists, anthropologists, civic leaders and more.
