CSUB Payment Plans

CSUB offers payment plans for tuition and fees as well as housing room and board in accordance with guidelines issued by the CSU Chancellor’s Office. This optional plan enables students who are not receiving sufficient aid such as grants, loans, scholarships or waivers, to pay tuition and fees throughout the term, rather all at once. Payment plans serve as a non-interest bearing alternative to loans for purposes of paying debt owed to the University.

California residents are eligible to enter a five (5) installment payment plan for tuition, fees and housing room & board.

  • Enrollment in installment plans must be completed by the following date or closest business day:
    • Five-installment plan – enrollment by August 10th (Fall), January 10th (Spring)
    • Four-installment plan – enrollment by September 10th (Fall), February 10th (Spring)
    • Three-installment plan – enrollment by October 10th (Fall), March 10th (Spring)
  • Additionally, California residents can enroll in a payment plan for tuition & fees through their MyCSUB account.
  • California residents interested in a housing room and board payment plan will need to go to the cashier’s office for assistance with enrollment.

Non-California residents are eligible to enter a three (3) installment payment plan for tuition, fees and housing cost.

  • Enrollment in a three-installment payment plan must be completed by October 10th (Fall) or March 10th (Spring) or closest business day.
  • The first payment is due before the start of term OR on date of enrollment in payment plan if after start of term.
  • Remaining two payments are prorated throughout the remainder of the term.
  • Interested students should go to the cashiers’ office for further information and enrollment.

Payment plans can be structured to align with your spending plan and, if managed properly, allow you to graduate without any outstanding loans or debt.

All CSUB students are eligible to enter a payment plan if they have a tuition and fee balance owed to the University of $500 or more.

If you are considering a payment plan in lieu of a loan, please visit the student financial services webpage for more information on how to enroll in a payment plan
